NYPD Detective Gescard Isnora Has "No Apologies, No Regrets" From the Sean Bell Shooting
Almost 6 years after the controversial police shooting of Sean Bell, former detective Gescard Isnora is speaking out.
In an exclusive interview with NBC New York, Isnora stated, "I'm not looking back, no apologies, no regrets. I came to grips with what I did. I am able to sleep at night. I am here talking to you."
Isnora and three other undercover cops fired 50 shots at Bell and his three friends who were leaving a strip club bachelor party on the night of November 16, 2006. He claims he heard one of Bell's friends say he was going to get his gun, feeling threatned, the officers let off rounds of gun fire killing Bell the night before his wedding day.
Isnora was fired by the NYPD three weeks ago and stripped of his pension and healthcare benefits, he feels betrayed by his place of employment. "I was fed to the wolves if, you know, you wanna use that," That's exactly what the Commissioner and the Mayor did," explained Isnora.
