The Beauty of Barbados: Reggae On The Hill, Mango Bay, and Local Faces

At this point it’s safe to say hip-hop’s current love affair with Barbados can be attributed solely to Rihanna’s unparalleled star power.

VIBE recently headed down to the Caribbean island for a three day getaway to get better acquainted with the oft overlooked travel hot spot. Upon arrival, we were quickly shuttled to the elegant St. James area and checked into the stunning Mango Bay Resort, where we were immediately treated to delectable homemade Rum Punch and Pina Coladas.

Mango Bay boasts a private beach, immaculate spa and fitness amenities, high-end restaurant, unmatched views of the ocean and so much more. Island Inn, Mango Bay’s sister resort also offers its own unique offerings for an unforgettable and relaxing vacation.

Our charming hosts from KTC and the Bradman Agency treated us to a weekend of tropical snorkeling , 5-star dinners, and exploring. Our time at the modern and homey Mango Bay suites ranked amongst our top company trips in years.

As our time sight-seeing through Barbados’ blue waters and eye-opening wildlife refuges winded down, VIBE embarked on an all-day trip to the coveted Reggae On The Hill festival. The annual event gave us a first-hand look at emerging Bajan talent as well as sets from Reggae staples such as Jah Cure and Chris Martin. However, our favorite part of the day was the visual feast of locals decked out in their flyest gear. Check out the photo gallery below for a glimpse into the most beautiful faces Barbados has to offer.
