Designer to Watch: Stevie Boi
Back in 2007, Stevie Boi created his first clothing line, Toxic. The concept of creating clothing was something he wanted to put on the back-burner in order to pursue a new project. Taking inspiration from Dolce and Gabbana’s shades, he began to make sunglasses to match his garments. His first signature galactic shades were born.
He gained media attention when Eva Marcille of America’s Next Top Model was spotted in a pair of his shades. Even when Lady Gaga wasn’t a household name, Stevie Boi was designing shades for her performances and music videos.
Stevie Boi client list includes: Beyoncé, Teyana Taylor, Trina, Lady Gaga, Amber Rose, Teairra Mari, LisaRaye, Meagan Good, Eva Marcille, New Boyz, Rasheeda, and more.
Motivated by icon Grace Jones, Stevie Boi aims to create pieces that will literally make you drop dead or make you look twice. When it comes to inspiration, he likes to discover things he wants to learn more about such as religion, cultures, and conspiracy.
Within the last couple of years, Stevie Boi’s glasses have graced international issues of Vogue five times, presented a collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and filmed two TV projects. Stevie Boi returned to designing clothes with his Co-Exist collection featuring luxury clothing, accessories, shoes, and swimwear. The full line was featured in French Vogue.
The young designer’s sunglasses line is avant garde, futuristic, cutting edge and hypnotic. Stevie Boi designs have been embraced by pop and urban trendsetters to fearless everyday fashionistas.
Stevie Boi specializes in high fashion, ready to wear shades and accessories that are works of art.
