Jay-Z Looking to Snag Obama for Made In America Festival
Philadelphia rejoiced on Monday morning (May 14) after Jay-Z was announced as the headliner and organizer of the first annual Budweiser Made in America festival.
Though acts are still relatively unknown at this time, according to Rolling Stone, Hov already has one person in mind to grace the stage Labor Day weekend. In a post-press conference interview with the magazine, Jay revealed he’d like to snag Obama as a performer for one of the days.
“I'm gonna try,” Jay-Z told Rolling Stone. “I'm gonna tell you guys right now: I'm gonna give him a call and I'm gonna try to get him to perform – do a little rendition of Al Green – but I doubt it. I think that opens up the political season. He'll be so far into helping the world that he probably won't have time, but I'm absolutely going to ask him.”
Mr. Carter hopes to also employ Mrs. Knowles-Carter for the festival as well.
“I tried to put it far enough away that she'd have a little gap in her schedule, so hopefully that works,” he said.
Jay-Z and Obama on one stage? It looks like big plans could possibly be in store for Made in America.
