Vixen Chat: Teedra Moses Talks New Music, VIBE’s Role Models and Rihanna

What do you think of VIBE’s new reality TV queens cover?
They look fabulous. Chrissy looks the fiercest on the cover. I like her, she’s really thick, but it comes off really well on her; she’s really gorgeous. And she’s a rider! I love that about her too.

What do you think of them as role models for young girls or women in general?
I think any woman that lets another woman be a role model to her daughter [rather than] herself is not doing a good job. I think those women are there to get their paper, so I don’t judge them. I don’t have role models myself; I try to just follow God, so I don’t really get caught up in that. I think a woman should be proactive in her daughter’s life. She may look up to people, but the mother is the example to follow.

You don’t have any role models?
When you’re at a certain age, everybody is fallible. You know, nobody is perfect, so you don’t look at anyone and exalt them; you only exalt God. There are certain people that I admire. Like, I love Sade’s career and I love Anita Baker’s voice, but I don’t know them. When you don’t know a person, it’s kind of hard to get caught up with talking about role models.

Has anything changed being under Rick Ross’ wing career wise?
People tend to give me more attention now. I’ve been doing the same thing I’ve been doing, but people tend to pay attention more and that’s always helpful sense. I’m trying to build my brand and get notoriety. It helps a lot in that aspect.

How do you feel about Rihanna being at the center of Meek Mill, Chris Brown and Drake’s beef?
I just say, Yay, Rihanna! Power of the P. I don’t know whats going on, but if she’s got three men fighting over her, power of the P. I like her, and I love that she’s being herself. I love that she’s found her freedom in this walk. She’s doing whatever she wants to do; she’s young and doing her thing. I like looking at her live her life. That girl went from getting her face bashed in to just living, so good for her.
