Beyonce’s Dad Matthew Knowles to Premiere New Reality Show on MTV

Did anyone really know about this?

Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles, premiered his own MTV reality series Monday (June 25) Breaking From Above, featuring his latest girl group From Above. As the mastermind behind Bey’s success with Destiny’s Child, as well as Blaque and Trin-i-tee 5:7, Mr. Knowles took his talents elsewhere and formed an all-lady British band.

According to the Huffington Post, the series, which premiered in 160 countries not including the U.S. last fall, will work in conjunction with Knowles’ label, Music World Entertainment. The show will follow “the five UK natives (Ashley, Daisy, Seyi, Chelsey and Monique) as they go through the mogul’s artist development program, which consist of hardcore physical, vocal, media and choreography training.”

Most of the series was shot in Knowles’ native Houston, which is why it’s only right that the TV spot heads Stateside.

“The U.S. launch is very unique and interesting — all of the key players are from the U.S., with the exception of the ladies, who all reside in London,” he said in a statement to HuffPo. “Our goal is continue to build [From Above’s] brand internationally and use the U.S. launch as an introduction to the group and their music.”
