'Dark Knight Rises' Paris Premiere Canceled in Lieu of Colorado Shootings
In light of today’s Colorado shooting at the showing of the highly anticipated The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. has decided to cancel its red carpet premiere in Paris, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Director Christopher Nolan and cast members Anne Hathaway, Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman also pulled out of their scheduled media interviews.
Journalists were present at a Paris hotel with the actors, but were instructed to leave. French actress Marion Cotillard was scheduled to appear on TF1, France’s most viewed news channel, but that interview was also cancelled.
The company addressed the unfortunate incident in a statement:
"Warner Bros. is deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time."
