Common’s “Luv” To Hit Theaters November 9th

Movies & TV

Are you ready to crown the Chi-town MC as a thespian, yet? Common stars in director Sheldon Candis’ film entitled LUV. The film follows the story of an orphaned young boy who is suddenly put in the care of his uncle, who is also an ex-con. Common’s character struggles to legitimize his life, while acting as a father figure for his new dependent comrade-in-arms. LUV, which made its debut at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, continued to tour the film festival circuit, with screenings at the Champs-Elysées Film Festival (Paris and L.A.), the American Black Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film Festival. You can watch a clip from the film for yourself below: BET also picked up the independent project in hopes of debuting it for TV. After making the festival rounds, Indomina Entertainment announced it has acquired the film which gave the project its fall release date. LUV finds Michael Rainey Jr., Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton and Dennis Haysbert starring alongside Common, and will open in theaters on November 9. Props: Shadow and Act
