Joel McHale To Guest Star On “Sons Of Anarchy”

Movies & TV

Fans of the popular FX show, Sons of Anarchy, will be introduced to a new, but familiar face in the town of Charming.

Joel McHale, host of The Soup and lead dog in NBC’s Community, will appear on the Hamlet-on-a-Harley drama in a multi-episode arc, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The charismatic funnyman will play Warren, a con man who double-crosses the wrong person. While nothing much else is known about McHale’s characters arc on the show, he’s pretty sure to have scenes with Katey Sagal, who tweeted a photo of her and McHale on July 12. “Working with a handsome stranger. Yeow! Lucky girl. Love my job,” she tweeted.

Season 5 of Sons of Anarchy, which premieres in September, will focus on Jax (Charlie Hunnam) as he tries to head up the motorcycle club after ousting his step-father Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) as president. The cast of Sons of Anarchy were questioned by hardcore SOA fans who wondered aloud by the casting of McHale and his ability to fit into a mature drama. However, this isn’t the first time that the casting choices made by series creator Kurt Sutter, as he cast Tom Arnold and David Hasselhoff on the show. Those choices turned out to be television master strokes.

Sons of Anarchy season 5 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 11th at 10:00 pm on FX.
