NBC Developing Super Villain TV Show ‘Hench’

Movies & TV

Sorry Avengers fan, NBC is siding with the supervillains!

The Peacock network has decided to move forward with Hench, a dramatic series that will center on an average guy who “temps” for supervillains as a means of supporting his family, according to Deadline. The Peter Berg-produced project is based on the comic book of the same name by Adam Beechen and Manny Bello.

Alexandra Cunningham is the pen behind the comic-book adaptation, who also has a relationship with NBC going back to her work on last season’s Prime Suspect starring Maria Bello. While that show, which was equally produced by Berg’s production company film Film 44, was canceled after its first season, the network was happy enough with the creative team behind it to give the partnership another try.

There’s no word on who else will be involved on the project or if we should be expecting any comic book familiars as heroes or villains. We’re just hoping for some classic characters like Doc Ock or Sabretooth to work alongside Sylar from NBC’s Heroes in one episode.
