V Playlist: A$AP Mob x Da$h, Colin Munroe, Fat Trel, Realm Reality x Prodigy, Mookie Jones x Smoke DZA

VIBE’s Daily Additions to the ‘Pod

1. A$AP Mob (feat. Da$h) – “Dope, Money, Hoes”
On this track off their Lords Never Worry mixtape, you can definitely hear the influence that Dipset has on A$AP Mob. The most notable thing here though is the beat, which usually happens when araabMUZIK is behind the production wheel. Simply put, this is Harlem street music.

2. Colin Munroe – “Over It”
There’s a cool vibe going on in this song, slightly reminiscent of a Timbaland/Aaliyah collaboration. Colin’s voice coasts with the beat—creating something that’s contemporary enough to get your body moving, yet smooth enough to relax your mind.

3. Fat Trel – “Zonin”
The line, “[This beat] reminds me of having sex with Erykah Badu with all candles lit; no light” is hilarious enough to make this more than another Kendrick Lamar beat sample. Trel takes the instrumental and adds his own flavor to it.

4. Realm Reality (feat. Prodigy) – “The Realness”
Shoutout to Dan Freeman for the production on here. He gave us something to nod our heads to. Prodigy is well-placed on the chorus, and Realm kills the verses in his own right. Good stuff.

5. Mookie Jones (feat. Smoke DZA) – “Freak (Remix)”
With Smoke DZA on board, you already know this is gonna be a smokers joint. Relaxed, easy-breezy, chill hip-hop is what you get on the “Freak” remix. Take a break from life for a second and kick back to this.
