VIBE Fashion Files: D.C shows us how to go out with a bang !

Just because the end of summer is creeping around the corner doesn’t mean our favorite trends have to. Bringing some of summer’s most accessible trends into the Fall season is a great way to mix and match styles and trendy season must-haves. This summer’s fashions have been drenched with prints, eye-popping colors, and bold accessories (thanks to Miss Rita Ora). We took to the experts to end our summer trend search with a bang! Check out what Celebrity Style Expert, Daver Campbell, has to say about his favorite summer trends and style suggestions.

Overview: Favorite Campbell Summer Trends?
1) Color: Mint Green
The big color trend for 2012 summer is mint green. Designers such as Louis Vuitton, Christopher Kane and 3.1 Phillip Lim featured trends in this soft whimsical green color. Kanye West and Zoe Saldona are examples of how to incorporate this season’s Mint Green trend from the runway to the real world.
2) Pattern: Flowers
Summer wouldn’t be summer without a selection of floral prints. Givenchy and Cynthia Rowley are great examples of how to work prints and patterns. Both designers featured floral prints in their Summer 2012 collections. As a result, celebrities such as Solange Knowles and Swizz Beat have already been spotted rocking the trend.
3) Accessories: Statement Necklace Trend
Chic statement pieces are the best way to add some punch to the look. From Cuban link accessories to layers of gold chain necklaces, a statement jewelry addition is the perfect complementary accessory that adds instant glamour to your look. The main key is to keep the rest of your outfit simple.

What summer styles do you think have been able to bounce off the catwalk and onto the streets?

Styles that can bounce off the catwalk and onto the streets are baroque flourishes and ornamental designs. They were all over the collections this season! Whether found in fabric or fine embroidery, they can add a touch of regality to your look. Another great trend to take from the runway to the real world is the drop waist style. Shapeless flapper-style dresses are trending this season, with some designers modernizing the 1920s look by drawing the line just around the hips. The drop waist is perfect for all body types ( It keeps you trendy while hiding those unflattering areas)

What colors do you find the most appealing for summer? (Considering skin tone as well)
What would summer be without a pop of color and a little pattern? The colors I find the most appealing are pastels and neon fluorescents. Pastels work great for those with fair and olive skin tones. Neon colors work great for those with medium and dark skin tones.

How would you intermix both (texture and print) to produce an amazing summer outfit?
Mixing textures and print is one of my favorite ways to transform an outfit. The trick to making this work is to find a balance between each. Singer and DJ, Solange Knowles, has mastered the art of mixing textures and prints to create amazing summer outfits and looks.
