Diamond Talks Dating Soulja Boy, ‘Love & Hip-Hop ATL’ and Making Amends With Lil Scrappy

Diamond has definitely grown since her days in Crime Mobb when she was signed at a mere 14-years-old. With 10 years invested in rap game, the 24 year-old is ready to take on the world in new ways. “For me, it’s overcoming things,” she told The Jasmine Brand in a recent interview. “And showing that I can stand as an individual outside of Crime Mobb.”

Crime Mobb went platinum for their hit “Knuck If You Buck” and also followed similar success with the single “Rock Yo Hips.” But Diamond knows that having longevity doesn’t come a dime a dozen. “I guess because I’ve been doing it for so long that I feel older. Most people are just getting started.”

The ATL rapper is currently dating fellow rapper Soulja Boy, who also found success at a young age. The couple has been dating for little over a year now, and Diamond is still intrigued by him and his swag. “His ambition his drive to challenge himself to take on other challenges not just musically.” However, as we all know this fairytale wasn’t always the case as she too dated ATL rapper Lil Scrappy for six years. “At some point we need to make amends. I’m to the point now, because I know at one point he was trying to reach out, and I was still angry from a lot of things that happened in the past.”

Aside from relationship drama, the rap diva is keeping up with her long career. Diamond is constantly working on new material. Her single ‘Screws Loose’ is out an iTunes now and she has more plans for her upcoming album The Young Life, which is scheduled to drop at the end of this year.

The ATLien also discussed her choosing to opt out of appearing on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. When asked what would be her motivation in appearing on the show she said, “It’s time for other women that are struggling to be independent in a man’s world. I’m to the point now where I know that I have a brand and it’s certain things that have to be protected. And if they’re not protected, I’m not doing it period.”

It’s clear that Diamond is far from just giving up on her goals whether it involves LHHA or not. “I know that having faith, you have to step out sometimes and trust that, whatever you do, whatever decisions you make, whether it’s a bad one or not, he’ll turn around and make it into something positive.”–Jasmine Aspinall
