Issa Rae and Shonda Rhimes Team Up for New ABC Comedy


ABC Networks has just nabbed twoShonda Rhimes of Shonda Rhimes’ projects off Shondaland. 

According to Deadline, Rhimes will be bringing Issa Rae (known for her popular Misadventures Of Awkward Black Girl web series) and her half-hour comedy show I Hate L.A. Dudes–based on a single female journalist who serves as the lone voice on a budding, male-driven Internet talk show while navigating the L.A. dating scene–to the network. John Hoffman’s dramedy The Mix, which centers on the lives of five different women who host an influential morning talk show, is also being picked up.

Along with her producing partner Betsy Beers, Rhimes is responsible for ABC’s hit shows Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal.
