Tameka “Tiny” Harris to Receive ASCAP Songwriting Honors
The Harris family can add another award to their family trophy cabinet.
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will honor Tameka “Tiny” Harris, former Xscape singer and proud wife of rapper T.I., at its 4thAnnual ASCAP Presents… Women Behind the Music series. Other honorees include attorney Bernie Lawrence-Watkins and songwriter/recording artist Crystal Nicole. The event will take place on October 18 at Vanquish nightclub in Atlanta.
The series highlights female songwriter, artists, managers, label execs, attorneys and music publishers for their work in the industry. Tiny is best known for her contributions to TLC’s “No Scrubs” with Kandi Burruss. She’s also worked with Lil Kim, T.I., Bow Wow and the OMG Girlz.
“Each woman we have honored since our inaugural event three years ago is a legend in her own right,” said ASCAP Vice President of Membership, Rhythm & Soul, Nicole George. “I’m thrilled to continue this amazing series with another round of outstanding and deserving honorees.”–Stacy-Ann Ellis
