Brooklyn Nets & Marvel Unleash the First NBA Superhero

The Brooklyn Nets beat the Toronto Raptors 107-100 in their season opener, but that wasn’t the only big debut of the evening. The Nets in association with Marvel Entertainment also unveiled their mascot, the BrooklyKnight, a play on Brooklynites. The masked and caped superhero descended from the Barclays Center rafters onto center court before the start of the game “equipped to handle almost any threat,” including his home team’s opponents.

To help celebrate the big moment, everyone in attendance received BrooklyKnight #1, a 32-page comic written by Jason Aaron (Thor: God of Thunder, Wolverine & The X-Men) and illustrated by artist Mike Deodato (The Amazing Spider-Man, New Avengers.) Check pages from the comic book in the photo gallery that follows.
