Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera & More Sing for Hurricane Sandy Victims

It’s been less than a week since Hurricane Sandy swept the Eastern Seaboard, wiping out parts of New Jersey and leaving New York City underwater and without electricity for days. The stars came out Friday (Nov. 2) night for the Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together telethon helping raise money for those left homeless and hurt following the superstorm. Staten Island native Christina Aguilera and New Jersey resident Mary J. Blige both sang during the NBC-produced telethon. “My prayers go out to everyone affected by the hurricane. Things are going to get better, so please, just hang in there, be strong and have faith,” MJB said before her heartfelt performance of “The Living Proof.” Other natives to the region hit by Sandy that lent their talents for the Matt Lauer-hosted, hour-long TV special included Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi, Steven Tyler and members of Aerosmith, as well as funny folks Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Fallon and Jon Stewart.
