Tim Tebow Criticized By Jets Teammates

There’s no “I’ in team, and apparently neither is Tim Tebow.

The back-up quarterback for the New York Jets was the subject of harsh albeit anonymous criticism from his teammates in an article from the NY Daily News. Various players from the team (who kept their identities unknown) admitted they they didn’t trust in Tebow’s abilities.

“He’s terrible,” a defensive starter said. Other members felt there wasn’t any appreciable improvement in Tebow’s quarterback skills since his crossover from the Denver Broncos in March.

Left guard Matt Slauson took a ballsy approach and made it known that he sides with starting quarterback Mark Sanchez. “It’s not even close,” said the offensive linesman. “All the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don’t really have a choice.” Yikes!

While Tebow says that he feels “frustration and…some sadness,” he still has one lone believer: Jets head coach Rex Ryan. “Tim Tebow came here to be the backup quarterback. We never brought him in here, to be the starting quarterback. We already had a starting quarterback in Mark Sanchez,” he said. “I thought I was clear on that from the day we brought Tim in here. But what we were also clear on is that he’s a football player and we’re going to use him in different roles.”

“Every single day when he hits the field, he works about as hard as anybody I’ve seen. He stays longer than probably every player we have, working on those skills,” Ryan said, who called his players ‘cowardly’ for their comments regarding Tebow. “He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do.”
