Adam Lanza's Hard Drive Damaged Before Shooting
The mass shooting at Newtown Connecticut continues to leave more questions than answers.
Authorities have been trying to piece together the identity of the alleged shooter Adam Lanza by attempting to extract data from his hard drive with very little success, Yahoo! News reports. Before gunning down 20 first graders and six adults before himself at Sandy Hook Elementary School, he reportedly destroyed the hard drive. Sources said that it "appeared to have been badly damaged with a hammer or screwdriver."
While he was known to play violent video games, there is still no concrete evidence to even begin explaining why the 20-year-old committed such a heinous act. For now, investigators can only question those already torn by the events of last Friday. Connecticut State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance explained on Monday. It's a very, very tender, tender issue."
President Barack Obama has done his best to soothe the pains of the families affected by visiting Newtown Sunday. In his public address, he said, "We will be told that the causes of such violence are complex, and that is true...No single law, no set of laws can eliminate evil from the world or prevent every senseless act of violence in our society, but that can't be an excuse for inaction."
