Alicia Keys Performs 'Brand New Me' on David Letterman
Last night, Alicia Keys sat down with late night funny man David Letterman in an interesting yellow and purple ensemble to dish about her upcoming world tour. The "Girl on Fire" singer chatted about her adorable two-year-old son Egypt and how she's dealing with introducing the toddler to the tale of Santa Claus. Keys also disclosed she will be taking her son on tour with her, an experience she is sure will tire her out.
Even with her busy touring and recording schedule, Alicia has signed on to adapt Stick Fly for HBO, the Broadway play she co-produced in 2011.
The premise of Stick Fly is an interesting one. An affluent African American family reunite at their Martha's Vineyard home for a vacation. A sibling rivalry develops when the two brothers want to introduce their new girlfriends to their parents.
Alicia gushed about the play upon its debut last year. "I'm passionate about this play because it is so beautifully written and portrays Black America in a way that we don't often get to see in entertainment."
The play ran for 93 performances in 2012 to good reviews. The transition from stage to screen will involve Keys as producer alongside Nelle Nugent and writer Lydia Diamond.
