5 Hair & Beauty Trends to Carry Into 2013
1. High Bun
Buns aren't only for ballerinas anymore! In 2012, the high bun took on a life of its own, from perfect donut-styles to messy-chic. With the ease of this style, it's no wonder it was a go-to hairdo for celebs and civilians alike.
2. Stiletto Nails
In 2012, celebrities ditched the almond and square shaped nail for the sexy stiletto style. The stiletto nail has become one of the hottest trends for 2012 thanks to its endless design, length and shape options.
Rihanna has championed this trend, always rocking her pointy talons in a myriad of designs.
While stiletto nails may not be practical for the everyday girl (how do you wash dishes?!), we adore them on celebs.
3. Ombré Hair
It's no secret that ombré hair has been around for years, but in 2012, the dip-dye look became one of the hottest hair trends.
We love it as a transitioning style as well. Keke Palmer rocked blonde ombré tresses on the red carpet then appeared on The Wendy Williams Show with a fierce full-on blonde 'do.
Since blonde hair isn't the only color option for ombré hair, we think the style can stay new and exciting in the new year.
4. Vampy Lips
Nude lips seemed to dominate 2011, but with the insurgence of blood thirsty vampires on TV, vampy lips became the new beauty staple for 2012.
MAC Cosmetics hopped on the trend by introducing a deep plum lipstick by rapper Azealia Banks, "Young Rapunxel."
Dark lipstick isn't viewed as "gothic" anymore, we love this alternative to the red lip and can't wait to see more celebrities rock the look in 2013.
5. Collar Necklaces
This bold statement jewelry is such a far cry from the dainty necklaces we've seen celebs rock in 2011. The collar necklace is such a versatile piece and can be worn casually with jeans or glammed up with a dress.
In an array of metals and designs, this trend is just heating up.
