Jennifer Lopez’s $20 Million Extortion Suit Against Ex-Chaffeur Dismissed
From VIBE–J.Lo may be feeling low after a California judge dismissed a $20 million suit that singer/ actress Jennifer Lopez filed against her former chaffeur Hakob Manoukian, who had sued her for firing him last spring, claiming his contract breached.
Los Angeles Superior Court Justice Joseph Kalin granted the motion in the chaffeur’s favor against Lopez’s cross complaint on Dec. 21, E! News reports.
According to Manoukian, he had filed a suit against Lopez, Nuyorican Productions and her manager Benny Medina in April after he was allegedly hired to be her full-time driver, but was never paid the annual salary of $72,000 that he was promised. He also claimed in the complaint that he was owed upwards of $200,000 for “production pay” when he chaffeured the former “American Idol” judge to tapings, movie shoots, performances and other professional engagements.
