NFL 2012 Week 14 Picks: Giants, Patriots & Redskins Push for the Playoffs

The NFL is in it’s home stretch. Teams are making a push for the playoffs or setting themselves up for a high pick in next year’s draft. Checkout VIBE’s Week 14 picks.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Washington Redskins

The Beltway Bowl is going down this weekend and will be one of the more exciting games. RGII is out here mashing for his dreams right now. He’s playing more like a 10-year veteran than the rookie he is, having only thrown only four picks this season.

The Ravens are in trouble. Terrell Suggs has a torn bicep, but he’s expected to play. There’s no way he’s going to be effective. While Suggs was out earlier this season, the Ravens run defense was abysmal. Mike Shanahan’s latest instaback, Alfred Morris, has been having a great rookie year running the ball and will have a great day against the Ravens defense.

Even though the Skins played on Monday Night they’ll be ready for this game. No Ray Lewis, Maybe no Terrell Suggs, Joe Flacco passing the ball too much and Ray Rice not getting the ball enough means a Redskins win, 24 – 17.

New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants

Both teams are coming into this game pissed after they both lost last week. The Saints are coming into this game a little fresher, because by Sunday they will have had ten days of rest. The Giants are still going to be sore from their Monday night loss in Washington D.C.

The Saints have no defense so Eli Manning is going to have a field day. Thankfully, After having the worst game of his life last week, Saints quarterback, Drew Brees is definitely going to have a New Orleans bounce back game.

The Saints need this game much more than the Giants do, but they don’t have a defense. Drew Brees is dope and all but the Giants defense will be able to come up with enough stops to win the game and the Saints defense will be non-existent. Giants win, 38 – 28.

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots

Possible AFC Championship prequel going down this Monday night between these two teams. Everyone has been talking about the Bears, 49ers, Texans and Broncos, but no one is talking about the Patriots. They’re only 9 -3 and running smoother than a Fleetwood Cadillac.

The Patriots offense is nearly unstoppable. Their passing game has always been dope but now with Stevan Ridley they have a more than respectable running game. Aqib Talib has been much needed addition to their defense as well.

This game is going to come down to the quarterbacks. Matt Schaub is a very good quarterback, but he’s no Tom Brady. Pats win, 24 – 17.
