First Look: Oprah Sits Down With Kerry Washington and Shonda Rhimes for ‘Next Chapter”


It looks like America has fell for Olivia Pope. Scandal, the drama starring Kerry Washington, has not only seen a huge ratings boost from last night’s episode–Happy Birthday, Mr. President scored 7.4 million viewers, a series high–and now the show will get the stamp of approval from Oprah herself when Kerry and the show’s creator Shonda Rhimes are sit down for Oprah’s Next Chapter.

Oprah talks to Kerry about her decision to move from the big screen to television, how competitive the role was and how Washington feels about becoming the first lead African American actress in over four decades on prime time television.

Rhimes, also the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, spoke about the show’s success and Katherine Heigl’s departure from the show in 2008.
