Seth MacFarlane Prepares "A Million Ways to Die in the West"
How did you really think Seth MacFarlane was going to follow-up his successful movie debut? We have more for you after the break.
The "Family Guy" creator will link up with "Ted" co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild for "A Million Ways to Die in the West," which according to The Hollywood Reporter, will be a live-action comedy starring and directed by MacFarlane.
Sources indicate that initial deals are still in the beginning stages, but Media Rights Capital -- the company that backed "Ted" when few others would -- is behind the offbeat comedy, along with Scott Stuber, who was a producer on "Ted" with MacFarlane.
After grossing $500 million worldwide, Seth is writing his own ticket in Hollywood, and "A Million Ways" seems to continue his brand of brash humor. The plot has been described as "Blazing Saddles" meets "American Dad" -- meaning a Western with contemporary humor, with one undercurrent being just how dangerous and painful life really was in the late 1800s.
In the meantime, Seth MacFarlane has his hands full, as he will be the host of next year's Academy Awards, and is set to guest star on an episode of "The Simpsons".
