Fall ’13 NY Fashion Week: Backstage Beauty at Dannijo
As we navigate the first day of fashion week, we caught a glimpse of the beauty looks from one of our favorite jewelry lines, DANNIJO. Designers (and sisters) Danielle and Jodie Snyder have managed to score an extensive celebrity following with their gorgeous jewels from top celebrities including Beyoncé, Blake Lively and Rihanna. And understandably so.
From its launch in 2008, the DANNIJO’s aesthetic has always combined Danielle’s bohemian, rock ’n’ roll vibe with Jodie’s classic sensibility, making for a versatile and ever-changing statement collection. This year the models mirrored jewelry from the collection, filling the stage with romantic and modern looks.

"The lip has a darkness to it without feeling goth,” says lead artist Jenny Smith. “Like a Renaissance painting that's romantic and soft yet has depth and is somber à la Margot Tenenbaum. She's a modern Renaissance girl!"
Lead stylist Johnny Stuntz used Lux hair WOW Pony Fall extensions to create the perfect top knot chignon for DANNIJO. The look works with the designers' vision of pulled back hair to showcase the jewelry.
"The inspiration and look for the nails was very opulent, very Elizabeth Taylor inspired,” says Katie Hughes, lead artist for Butter London. “They wanted rich colors, velvety tones, lots of red, winy colors and we threw in a neutral color to make it modern."
