Prime Suspect Named in Las Vegas Strip Shooting Is a 26-Year-Old Pimp

Las Vegas police are looking for 26-year-old Ammar Harris, who they have named the prime suspect in the Las Vegas Strip shooting this week that left three dead and several wounded.

It is believed that Harris was inside the black Range Rover that shot up the Maserati belonging to aspiring rapper Kenny Clutch, born Kenneth Wayne Cherry Jr. Cherry was killed instantly behind the wheel of his car early Thursday morning. The drive-by ultimately shut down the Las Vegas Strip for 15 hours near the Bellagio and Caesers Palace. Two others lost their lives. 62-year-old cab driver Michael Boldon and passenger Sandra Sutton-Wasmund, 48, were killed in a fiery blaze after Cherry’s car crashed and caused a pile up on the famous boulevard.

Harris, whose full name is Ammar Asim Faruq Harris, is considered armed and dangerous. The above jail photo was taken following his arrest last year, also in Vegas, for pandering, kidnapping, sexual assault and coercion charges. Police say the arrest stemmed from allegations that he was a pimp.

Police found the black Range Rover with its custom black rims that took off from the shooting at a gated apartment complex a few blocks east of the Strip, and it was impounded as evidence. Harris is still on the run.
