Aspiring Rapper Attempts To Kill Friend As Sacrifice To Join The Illuminati

Hip-hop's bizarre obsession with the Illuminati may be the main reason why a South Richmond, Va. resident is scheduled to go on trial for shooting his close friend at point-blank range.

On Thursday, (March 21) a Virgina circuit court denied bond and scheduled a two-day trial for 27-year-old Wafeeq Sabir El-Amin this coming June. According to Richmond's Times-Dispatch, El-Amin shot his friend in the head on Dec 26, after the two spent the evening smoking marijuana. The police report revealed the bullet ricocheted off the victim’s hand sending bone and skin fragments into his eye. The victim was able to get hold of the gun and shoot El-Amin in the stomach before he ran off. The victim ultimately survived, and has not been charged.

The incident reportedly occured because El-Amin believed he had to sacrifice his friend in order to join the Illuminati, the secret society many believe rules the world through its elite members. Prosecutor Thomas L. Johnson quoted El Amin as saying, "You are my sacrifice," before pulling the trigger on his friend. "It was the belief that a sacrifice had to occur in order to join the Illuminati that allegedly incited El-Amin," Johnson said.

In court, Johsnon mentioned that the trial will delve into the hip-hop music culture and the dubious idea that the Illuminati has control over the success of some performers. A book about the role of the Illuminati in hip-hop music and a pound of marijuana was found in the defendants house.

El-Amin is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was indicted by a grand jury earlier this year.

Derek Chauvin To Be Tried Separately For Murder Of George Floyd

Fired Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin will stand trial alone for the murder of George Floyd, a judge ruled Monday (Jan. 11). Chauvin, whose trial takes place in March, was originally scheduled to be tried alongside the three other officers charged in Floyd’s murder.

Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill chose the separate trial in order to maintain COVID-19 restrictions. Chauvin faces second-degree murder and manslaughter charges.

“The physical limitations of courtroom C-1856, the largest courtroom in the Hennepin County Government Center, make it impossible to comply with COVID-19 physical restrictions in a joint trial involving all four defendants beginning March 8, 2021 given the number of lawyers and support personnel the parties have now advised the Court are expected to be present during trial,” reads the court decision.

The court also denied Chauvin’s request to have the case continued due to “discovered violations.” Opening statements and the commencement of the state's case against Chauvin will begin no earlier than March 29.

Prosecutors “respectfully” disagreed with the court’s decision to try the men separately. “As we argued several months ago, and as the judge agreed in his November ruling, we believe all four defendants should be tried jointly,” Attorney General Keith Ellison said, per NBC News.

The other defendants, Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao, will be tried together beginning on Aug. 23.

Chadwick Boseman’s Widow Tears Up While Accepting Award On His Behalf

In her first public statement since his death, Chadwick Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, became emotional while accepting an award on his behalf during the 30th annual IFP Gotham Awards on Monday (Jan. 11).

The late actor, whose credits include Black Panther, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Da Five Bloods, was posthumously honored with the Actor Tribute.

During her speech, Ledward spoke of Boseman as a curious truth-teller whose light continues to shine. “As an artist, an actor, and a person, Chad made a practice of telling the truth,” she said. “He is the most honest person I’ve ever met because he didn’t just stop at speaking the truth. He actively searched for it in himself, in those around him and in the moment.

“The truth can be a very easy thing for the self to avoid, but if one does not live in truth, then it’s impossible to live in line with the divine purpose for your life and so it became how he lived his life, day in and out. Imperfect but determined.”

Ledward continued, “He was blessed to live many lives in his concentrated life. He harnessed the power of letting go and letting God’s love shine through.

“Thank you for giving Chad these gifts,” she said becoming emotional. “It’s my honor to receive this award on behalf of my husband. An acknowledgement not only of his profound work but of his impact on this industry and this world. Chad, thank you. I love you. I am so proud of you. Keep shining your light on us.”

Boseman, 43, passed away last year following a four-year bout with colon cancer.

YFN Lucci Wanted By Atlanta Police On Felony Murder Charge

Atlanta police are looking for YFN Lucci in connection with a fatal shooting that went down last month. The 29-year-old rapper, whose birth name is Rayshawn Bennett, faces several charges including felony murder and aggravated assault, the FADER reports.

On Dec. 10, police responded to a shooting on the 900 block of Peeple’s Street in southwest Atlanta at around 5:20 p.m. The victim, 28-year-old James Adams, was found with a gunshot wound to the head. EMT's attempted to give Adams medical treatment at the scene before rushing him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A second victim, 32-year-old Kevin Wright, survived. According to Atlanta’s CBS affiliate, Wright was able to make his way to a nearby fire station minutes after the shooting. He arrived with a gun shot wound in his chest.

“He was alert, conscious and breathing and when officers arrived on scene and asked him what happened, the male was uncooperative and would not answer any questions,” said Atlanta Police.

During the investigation, police determined that both shootings were connected. Authorities have already arrested two suspects, Ra’von Boyd, 23, and a 17-year-old boy. The suspects had reportedly fled to Florida where they were apprehended.

Investigators are asking that anyone with information on the shooting contact Crime Stoppers.

Lucci, who is dating Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter, hasn’t publicly addressed the allegations, but he has been active on social media most recently sharing a clip of his latest music video for “1DA.”
