HS Senior Lifts 700 Pounds In Powerlifting Competition

A high school senior has set a new Texas state record at a recent powerlifting meet in Abilene.

This past Saturday (Mar.23), Matt Poursoltani amazed the crowd as he crushed his previous record of 670 pounds. Currently, the senior weighs 270 pounds himself and is said to eat “six sunny side up eggs” every single morning.

While some naysayers accused the high schooler of using steroids, Poursoltani told reporters, “If you need something to help you work out, you need to get out of the sport. If you can’t drive yourself that hard to come in here and work out, then it’s probably just not for you.”

The all time highest bench press record belongs to Ryan Kennelly, who lifted 1,075 pounds in 2008.
