Jim Jones On Baauer’s ‘Harlem Shake’: ‘I Had That Record A Year Ago’

Baauer’s Billboard-topping hit “Harlem Shake,” allegedly belonged to someone else before the Brooklyn DJ released the track over a year ago. Harlem’s own Jim Jones recently revealed to Jenny Boom Boom on her Hot Afternoon Radio Show, that his “remixed” version of the breakout beat is the original. “I had that record a year ago,” he told the Hartford radio host. “When I started to hear the ‘Harlem Shake’ and heard the beat, I was like, ‘Damn, I had the record for a year.’ So I just put the record out. I been had that record before anybody even thought about that record. It was a record for Pauly D’s album.” Press play for the full interview.
