President Obama Looks To Re-Open White House Tours For Kids

Several days after the White House closed their doors in the wake of budget cuts, President Obama is now asking the Secret Service to re-open them for kids hoping to get a tour of the oval office and then some.

In an interview with ABC News, Obama said the decision to close the White House doors to the public was made by the Secret Service. “This was not a decision that went up to the White House,” he told Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos.

However, Obama’s spokesman Jay Carney said last week that the Secret Service presented the White House with options for cuts including canceling tours or furloughing staff, and White House staff reportedly opted for the former.

Despite all the finger pointing, the president wants to usher school groups back into his home.
