Emmett Till Family To Go After Lil Wayne’s Mountain Dew Deal

Lil Wayne continues to come under fire for his controversial reference to Emmett Till, the black teen murdered in 1955 for allegedly whistling at a white woman, in Future’s “Karate Chop (Remix).”

Though the track was stripped of the line where Weezy rapped “Beat the p-ssy up like Emmett Till,” Till’s family is still coming for the New Orleans rapper.

They previously issued an open letter to the Young Money boss in February, requesting an apology but in between seizures and Miami Heat rants, the Young Money boss has kept his grills closed.

Now, those closest to Till are rallying against Wayne and his Pepsi-backed Mountain Dew endorsement deal.

According to MTV News, the Till family and the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation aired their grievances in a recent YouTube video. “We also support blocking and banning the endorsements,” said a Till representative. “I’ve maintained through February, Don’t do the Dew. His biggest endorsement is through Pepsi’s Mountain Dew. Stop buying it, stop lining his pockets. People are outraged because they feel that he should apologize to our family.”

Earlier this month, Reebok made an example of Maybach Music CEO Rick Ross when they released him from his deal after his bars on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.” were perceived as rape lyrics.
