WATCH: President Obama Sticks Up For Jay-Z at 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner
Obama walked out to DJ Khaled's "All I Do Is Win" at the the 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night in Washington D.C. "Rush Limbaugh warned you about this -- second term, baby," President Obama joked. This would not be Obama's last rap reference of his 22-minute speech. The president would also stick up for his pal Jay-Z and the rapper's recent trip to Cuba. "It's unbelieveable. I've got 99 problems and now Jay-Z is one."
The night was full of laughs and a few uncomfortable moments, as it usually is with some conservative media outlets and political insiders in attendance. Obama kept things light during his hilarious speech.
"Everybody loves Michelle," the president said of his wife, sitting to his right. "She's on the cover of Vogue, high poll numbers, but don't worry. I recently got my own magazine cover." A photo of Obama golfing on a mock issue of Senior Leisure magazine was showed to the room full of celebrities that included Nicole Kidman, Katy Perry, Fred Armisen, Paul Rudd, Olivia Wilde, Michael Douglas and more. "That, look ...I get it. These days I Iook in the mirror and have to admit, I'm not the strapping young Muslim socialist I use to be," he quipped. That wasn't the president's only zinger. He also flashed a photo of himself with a new heavy banged hairdo, saying that next time things got bad, he'd just take a note from his wife and change his coif.
Following Obama's speech, Conan also provided some laughs. "It's an honor to share this stage with the president," he began. "When you think about it the president and I are a lot alike. We both went to Harvard. We both have two children and we both told Joe Biden we didn't have extra tickets for tonight's event."
