Neil Patrick Harris Confirmed To Host The Emmys Again
It seems that the How I Met Your Mother star isn't content to host just one major awards show this year.
CBS announced today that the man formerly known as Doogie Howser, M.D., will host the 2013 Emmy Awards. This marks the second time Harris will host the Emmy Awards, having first held the job back in 2009.
Harris' next take to an award show stage will be when he hosts the 67th Tony Awards, next week, June 9th. He previously hosted the Tonys in 2012, 2011 and 2009.
"I couldn't be more honored and excited to be hosting this year's Emmy Awards," Harris said in a press release. "And what perfect timing — I'll just do the exact same script I'm about to use for the Tonys. 'And the Emmy for Best Revival of a Musical goes to Breaking Bad!' See, told you it works."
Harris himself is a three-time Emmy winner, having won for his guest starring role on Glee as well as for hosting the 2009 and 2011 Tony Awards.
"Neil is the quintessential host — engaging, entertaining and a true showman — with a passion for celebrating the medium we all love. We're thrilled for him to return for CBS's broadcast of the Emmy Awards," said Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment in the same release.
The Emmy Awards will air live on CBS, Sunday, September 22.
