Oprah Winfrey’s New Movie ‘The Butler’ Trailer [Video]

If you remember, earlier this year Terrence Howard made headlines for commenting on Oprah’s, as he put it, tig ol’ bitties. However, as big as the media made his comment, the storyline doesn’t reflect the point of the movie at all.

Already gaining Oscar buzz, Lee Daniels’ film The Butler was inspired by Wil Haygood’s Washington Post article about the true story of a black butler–played by Forrest Whitaker–who served eight White House presidents over three decades. This movie will serve as Winfrey’s (Whitaker’s wife) first big-screen appearance since 1998’s Beloved.

The all-star cast includes John Cusack, Alan Rickman, James Marsden, Liev Schreiber, Robin Williams, Orlando Eric Street (the presidents) and Jane Fonda, Minka Kelly, Melissa Leo (the first ladies). Nelsan Ellis will play Martin Luther King, Jr. with a supporting cast of Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Lenny Kravitz, David Oyelowo, Vanessa Redgrave and Alex Pettyfer.

The Weinstein Company-produced film is set to hit theaters on October 18.
