Singer Sues McDonald's After Sandwich Changed Her Voice
McDonald's is facing a lawsuit from a Brooklyn gospel singer who chewed on a piece of glass after biting into a chicken sandwich at a location in lower Manhattan.
Jaqueline Simpson, 52, filed a lawsuit at the Brooklyn Supreme Court on grounds that the mishap changed her singing voice. The incident took place in 2010 but Simpson is still feeling the effects of the damage. She says the glass shard was bigger than a penny.
“Now when I sing, I have a hoarse, rattly voice,” Jacqueline Simpson said. “I still sing alto, but I can’t sing soprano like I used to.”
She faces ridicule at her job as a clerk for the state Attorney General's Office. Simpson says the glass changed her voice so much that she constantly has to tell people on the phone that she's not a man.
“Before [the incident], that never happened,” she said.
The fast food chain has yet to comment.
