'Transformers 4' Finds Bumblebee Sporting A Retro Look
Yesterday, we showed you Drift and Slingshot from the upcoming Michael Bay production, and now we are excited to show you a new look for fan-favorite Bumblebee.
While Optimus Prime may be the forceful and benevolent leader of the Autobots, the heart and soul of the Michael Bay films has always been Bumblebee. Due in part to his relationship with Sam Witwicky, played by Shia LaBeouf, in the fourth installment of the popular franchise, Bumblebee has undergone a few drastic changes to reflect the shift in tone.
The previous films found Bumblebee sporting an alt-form of a modern Camaro, which even was mass produced by Chevy as a "Transformers Edition" car. In Transformers 4, Bee will be more retro as a modified 1967 Camaro Super Sport. You can see for yourself in the picture above.
Transformers 4 will be set four years after the events of Dark of the Moon and it seems as if the Autobots and Decepticons have all gone into hiding, which would explain the alternate forms after Chicago got destroyed. The photo featuring Bumblebee was taken "on Highway 163 in Monument Valley near the border of Arizona and Utah," but the real question is why did Bumblebee change his look from the modern to the retro? Was it to get over Sam Witwicky no longer being in his life? Does it have to do with a subplot in the next film?
Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers 4 will star Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, and T.J. Miller. It is set to open on June 27, 2014.
