A$AP Rocky Preps 'Druggy, Ambient' Instrumental Album
Expect Harlem's PMF to let his beats do the rocking this season.
After tearing up the airwaves and club scene with his heavy-hitting posse cut "Fuckin' Problem" alongside 2 Chainz, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky announced that he will be releasing an instrumental LP called Beauty & The Beast: Slowed Down Sessions Chapter 1.
"I think people are gonna be intrigued by it because it's actually good," he tells MTV News of the follow-up to his top-selling debut Long.Live.A$AP. "I wouldn't do nothing that I didn't feel confident or comfortable about. I think people gonna like this shit."
The leader of the A$AP mob says fans can expect some trippy tunes. "It's really druggy, ambient shit," he said. "Everything is like classical beautiful music and boom-bap Wu-Tang shit mixed together. It's slowed down and it's real vibey, with no lyrics. I feel like it's gonna get people through the summer."
Though A$AP didn't specify whether his rumored gal pal Chanel Iman had any bearing on the project's title, he says the album—which will come free of charge when it drops—soundtracked some wild nights before he changed his relationship status. "Before I got with my girlfriend I fucked a hundred bitches to my soundtrack already and it ain't even out yet," he said."I'm not looking to put it out, I'm just gonna drop it for free online and I'ma have visuals to it."
