Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms His Role In ‘Terminator 5′

“I’m very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator,” Arnold Schwarzenegger tells anxious journos wondering his status with the big blockbuster actioner.

Ever since the Governator announced his return to Hollywood, things have been relatively quiet with Arnold joining a few projects here and there. Many were concerned with two classic films, Conan and Terminator, and it seems as if Arnold has obliged us with news about the latter.

Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis scored the job of writing the fifth installment and Arnold has announced that he will be involevd in the franchise that already has a lot happening behind the scenes. Paramount has joined in to make and distribute the new film, and Arnie has now let more information slip about the project. “The movie is to start shooting in January,” he said, letting slip a very relevant piece of intel about the film that, at the time of writing has yet to be confirmed officially by brother-sister producing team Megan and David Ellison.

Having Arnold returning as the Terminator, whomever directs this picture they’d have to explain Arnold’s aged appearance or — much more likely — go the MOCAP route as with Terminator Salvation.

No other details have leaked about which direction Terminator 5 will take, but if it does happen, what do you think might happen with the sunglasses-wearing, shotgun-toting cyborg?
