Does Female Empowerment Entail Sexy Leather Attire? Beyoncé Gets Heat for Chime For Change Outfit
What started out as a night to empower women, ended in a twitter outrage with Beyoncé’s outfit front and center. Over the weekend, Queen B performed at Chime For Change's Sound Of Change concert, which benefits education, health and justice for women around the world, at the Twickenham Stadium in London wearing spiked heels and a tiny leather bodice.
Fans took to Twitter and expressed their concern for her "inappropriate" attire.
“Beyoncé is singing At Last in leather knickers while quotes from Rosa Parks and Princess Diana blare on the screen behind her #empowerment,” said one upset fan.
“Huge concert promoting female empowerment... and Beyoncé's backing dancers are all wearing thongs,” said another.
During the event, Beyoncé showed much gratitude and seemed to be happy to support the cause.
“This is such an incredible night for all of us…Women's rights, it's something that has always been something close to my heart. I know now being a mother it is really important that I can do what I can and use my voice.”
