Kanye West Readies 'Black Skinhead' As First Single Off 'Yeezus'
Despite Kanye West's "no strategy" strategy, the rapper is actually prepping "Black Skinhead" as the official first single off his Yeezus album.
Billboard reports that a clean version of the screamy record is being delivered to radio DJs for airplay and that a visual is on the way. Not that the record hasn't gained attention on its own. The controversial track has already been picked up for the soundtrack of the upcoming Martin Scorsese flick The Wolf on Wall Street starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Matthew McConaughey.
During a listening session for his latest effort in New York, 'Ye went on one of his quintessential rants, giving the verbal middle finger to corporations, the music industry and conventional roll-outs. "I have this new strategy, it's called no strategy," he said. "This album is about giving. This whole process is all about giving no fucks at all."
Still, the zero-fucks-given mentality has landed the Chi-town rep in a favorable position. One week after Yeezus's release, 'Ye was able to move 327,000 units of his seventh studio effort and debut at no. 1 on the charts.
