Lisa Lopes Left Out: TLC Replaces Left Eye For ‘Waterfalls’ Remake [Video]
R&B group TLC has remade their classic hit “Waterfalls” in honor of their 20th anniversary but one member turns up missing on the take two to the dismay of fans.
Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas have tapped Japanese pop queen Namie Amuro (pictured above) to provide substitute bars in place of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who passed away in a car crash in Honduras in 2002. While the rerecorded single hit the Internets earlier this week, it has been taken down for copyright issues.
While critics have called the remix a cry for buzz as the group makes its comeback with a new album and a VH1 biopic starring Lil Mama, Keke Palmer and Drew Sidora, the surviving members have yet to address the controversy but have been keeping busy with collaborations alongside Drake, J. Cole and Ne-Yo.
“There’s a lot of great things coming up lately for TLC and one of the things that we’re known for is entertaining and touring — and so I say, ‘If it’s not broke, don’t fix it,’” T-Boz said. “Like, why not go out again and do what we love to do best?” -
The new project marks TLC’s follow-up to their 2002 album 3D, which sold two million copies. Jump the page to watch the remake.
