Po Johnson of VH1’s ‘La La’s Full Court Life’ Celebrates National HIV Testing Day

In support of National HIV Testing Day (June 27), Just Been Tested, a new social network that promotes healthy sexual habits and popularizes the practice of getting tested regularly for STIs (sexually transmitted infections), rides along with Po Johnson — co-star of VH1’s La La’s Full Court Life and self-described urban punk artist — as she visits Out Of The Closet in Brooklyn to get tested and talks about the importance of knowing your status. “Together with my friends, I want to send a very powerful message to everyone who loves life and is a citizen of the world,” said Po Johnson. “I got tested to know my status and was public about it to inspire others to do the same. Getting my test date verified through Just Been Tested was my way of supporting STD awareness and sexual health, similar to wearing a pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness. We all have the power to protect our future and that includes your health. Know your HIV status. The time to act is now.”
