NSYNC Rumored To Reunite at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards

As if the MTV Video Music Awards hasn’t served up enough surprises, reports are now churning in that Sunday night’s show will feature a reunion by pop band NSYNC. A source tells the New York Post that Justin Timberlake, who is gearing up to perform and accept the networks Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, will also be joined onstage by his former bandmates J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone.

Before taking a break in 2002, NSYNC enjoyed pop supremacy as the ruling boy band of the late ’90s and early 2000s with hit singles like “Bye, Bye, Bye” from their multi-platinum album No Strings Attached. Chasez, Bass, Kirkpatrick and Fatone were spotted in the VIP section at Timberlake’s “Legends of the Summer” show with Jay-Z in Miami last week.

Timberlake has garnered multi-platinum success as a solo act with modern-day classic albums such as FutureSex/LoveSounds and his most recent studio effort The 20/20 Experience. Collectively with NSYNC, Timberlake has scored the second-most VMA trophies with a total of 14 wins. He is nominated for six awards at this year’s show including Video of the Year for his single “Mirrors.”

Whether the rumors are true or not, you can still catch JT live at the VMAs this Sunday, August 25 at 9pm. Timberlake will also drop his 20/20 Experience sequel on September 30.
