Rihanna May Be Facing $150K Lawsuit From Funeral Company
UPDATE: Rihanna's rep tells TMZ the singer paid the bill, and the allegation that there's an outstanding balance is "completely false."
Rihanna could be stuck in a grave situation after reportedly stiffing a funeral company out of a $150,000 bill from her grandmother's burial ceremony. Ciara Brathwaite, whom Rih affectionately calls Gran Gran Dolly, was reportedly given a lavish funeral after her death from cancer in June 2012, with huge exotic floral arrangements, tents and large screen projections for her funeral in the singer's native Barbados.
TMZ reports that the Bajan beauty only paid a quarter of the hefty bill because she "she refused to pay the balance." Rumors of the suit don't mean the Diamonds singer's loss hasn't taken an emotional toll. "Today marks one year since you crossed the bridge!," Rih wrote on Instagram with a photo map full of pics of her and her grandma on her one year death anniversary. "Still you never left...I can still remember your laugh, and I miss it, I miss the sound of your voice, your beautiful hands, the way you danced and got so happy when you heard music, I miss doing your makeup and taking your pictures, I miss the way you looked right at me, and I miss looking back at you, that proud look on your face!"
