Vin Diesel To Join Marvel's 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'
When you have 45 million followers on your Facebook page, every decision you make has the potential to be a blockbuster move! Such is the case with the latest status update from the one, the only Vin Diesel.
There's been plenty of speculation over Vin Diesel and his talks with the folks at Marvel about who (or what) he would play within their universe. Deadline seems to have the answer. The website is reporting that the Fast and Furious star is in negotiations to voice Groot in the space age adventure Guardians of the Galaxy.
The rumor mill began swirling when Diesel's Facebook page, a consistent source of information regarding the actor's upcoming projects, was changed to feature a picture of Groot as the actor's cover page. Within moments it was taken down, but many are wondering if the actor put it up in hopes that he would have been a part of this past weekend's big reveal during Marvel's presentation at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Since there wasn't an announcement made, the picture is gone and it seems as if the move nixes any hope that Vin Diesel would play Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Assuming this is indeed his role, it wouldn't be much of a stretch for audiences to accept Diesel as the role because he does have the vocal chops to pull it off (Iron Giant, anyone?). We anticipate word coming down from Kevin Feige and the crew soon. Until then, the James Gunn directed picture, which also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista, will hyper-warp into theaters August 2014.
