Drake Confirms Wu-Tang Clan Collaboration, Recalls Phone Call From Ghostface Killah

Wu-Tang fans were up in arms when Drake leaked “Wu-Tang Forever,” a melodic rap track laced with the Clan’s “It’s Yourz,” off his forthcoming effort Nothing Was The Same. However, it was one of the group’s members who revealed to VIBE that a remix was underway.

At NYU’s Skirball Center on Sunday night (Sept. 22), the Toronto MC sat down with RapRadar’s Elliott Wilson for a #CRWN conversation, confirming that a double-take on the Noah “40” Shebib-produced cut is set to be released. Drizzy even recalled getting a personal phone call from Ghostface Killah himself, praising his talents.

“Ghostface called and said ‘There’s this guy on twitter pretending to be me and talks down about you but you’re one of my favorite MCs,'” Drake said, according to one of the attendees JasFly.

When the pseudo-Wu tribute, which carries the same title as the hip-hop crew’s sophomore album, circulated the ‘Net, Raekwon also came to Drizzy’s defense on Twitter. “HOW CAN WU FANS BE MAD A DRAKE LET ALONE WUTANG FOR PAYING HOMAGE ?,” the Chef tweeted.

Expect the full interview to make its way to web soon.
