Mike Tyson Predicts Outcome Of Mayweather-Alvarez Fight, Talks New Promotions Company

Mike Tyson’s whole life has been a fight.

From beating his upbringing on the Brooklyn blocks to slugging his way to boxing’s undisputed heavyweight champion, Iron Mike knows the ropes of a good bout. So when asked about the likely outcome of the anticipated boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez, he bobs and weaves around a straight answer like it’s an opponent’s jab flurry.

“Anything can happen when two human beings get into the ring,” says Tyson, who stars in his own one-man HBO special, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. “Floyd is very experienced. This guy Alvarez is very strong. It comes across like Floyd will win, but we’ll see.”

In his years following his 2005 retirement, Tyson has remained involved in the boxing industry. Earlier this summer, he linked with Acquinity Interactive CEO Garry Jonas to form his own promotions company, Iron Mike Productions.

“I have a bunch of young fighters and they are going to improve and become better. I’m excited,” Tyson says. “I just think that this is good thing that I’m doing…. It’s new. I can’t tell you much about it.”
