2 Chainz Decodes ‘Fork’ And Talks The Origins Of ‘Trap’

2 Chainz’ hard-hitting hood banger “Fork” is the subject of discussion in a new interview presented by JAY Z’s Life + Times channel. The 36-year-old Georgia native recalls his drug-dealing past and clarifies the term “trap” within the visual, before providing a breakdown of his own “Fork” lyrics.

“The word ‘trap’ started in Atlanta, Georgia no matter what anybody else says, it wasn’t a music it was a lifestyle it was an area, an environment where you really tried to make it,” he says. “Originally trap was about selling dope, selling crack, selling weed.”

2 Chainz’ Boats II: Me Time album is available in stores now.
