Eminem On 'Marshall Mathers 2 LP': It's Not Necessarily A Sequel

Eminem wants that old thing back. While his well-received album The Marshall Mathers LP, released in 2000, is deemed his black belt, the Detroit rapper is armed to make a killing for his forthcoming Marshall Mathers 2 LP.

"Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations," he tells Rolling Stone magazine for their Nov. 7 issue. "I wouldn't want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs – and just when you think you got it, you listen and you're like, 'Fuck, man! I feel like it needs this or that,' to paint the whole picture."

7 REASONS WHY EMINEM'S 'THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP 2' WON'T SUCK

So far, that picture has produced the likes of "Berzerk" and "Rap God," lyrical Godzillas to some of the current singles sitting comfortably on the charts. While MMLP2 also boasts features from Kendrick Lamar and reunions with Skylar Grey and Rihanna, the Detroit lyricist isn't aiming for a sequel, but rather "a visitation."

"So there's not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that," he says. "To me, it's more about the vibe, and it's more about the nostalgia."

MMLP2 shakes up stores Nov. 5.

Dolly Parton Toys With Hopping On Next 'Old Town Road' Remix

Lil Nas X is not letting “Old Town Road” ever get old. The 20-year-old Atlanta native continues to add more and more musicians to various remixes of the record-breaking song.

Last week, he enlisted Young Thug and “The Yodeling Kid” Mason Ramsey, and it looks like another country music legend is looking to hop on another version of the track.

“Y’all think i can get dolly parton and megan thee stallion on a old town road remix?” Lil Nas X asked his millions of Twitter followers at the top of the week (Jul. 15). The “9 To 5” songstress responded to the artist’s inquiry yesterday (Jul. 18) on Twitter with a horse and a unicorn emoji. Megan has not responded to the inquiry... that we know of.

Billy Ray Cyrus– the father of Parton’s goddaughter Miley– hopped on the original remix with Lil Nas X, and performed the song with him at events such as Summer Jam and the 2019 BET Awards.

The track is currently the third longest-running No. 1 hit in the history of American popular music, right behind “One Sweet Day” By Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey, and Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s “Despacito.”

Kanye West And Kim Kardashian Reportedly Lobby Trump To Free A$AP Rocky

Kim Kardashian has been vocal about people of color being behind bars for various offenses, and she’s also demonstrated her abilities to help facilitate their removal. According to reports, she and her husband Kanye West are working together to get a high-profile star out of a current situation.

Per TMZ, the famous couple reportedly lobbied the White House to get involved in A$AP Rocky’s removal from a Swedish prison. The rapper is currently locked up for alleged assault.

“We're told as soon as Kim and Kanye heard about A$AP's predicament earlier this month ... Kanye urged Kim to get on the horn and talk to Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner -- with whom Kim is very familiar from her previous White House work,” reports the site. “Our sources say Kim filled Jared in on what was happening, and Jared then took the info to Trump himself ... whom, we're told, acknowledged something seemed amiss.”

The write-up continues by stating that Trump reportedly believes the A$AP Mob member is being held “unfairly,” and thanks to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the State Department is reportedly “actively working” to get A$AP out from behind bars.

Rocky could reportedly spend up to six years behind bars if convicted.

Young Thug Says Lil Nas X 'Shouldn't Have Told The World' About His Sexuality

Young Thug recently hopped on the second remix for Lil Nas X's record-breaking song "Old Town Road." In the midst of the response to the newest version of the track, the ATLien gave some of his thoughts about the other news pertaining to his collaborator.

According to an interview Thugger gave to YouTube's No Jumper, he believes that the 20-year-old may receive backlash for recently coming out about his sexuality, and that he shouldn't have told the world that he was gay.

“I feel like he probably shouldn’t have told the world,” Thug said. “He shouldn’t have told the world because it’s like, these days, motherf**ers just... it’s just all judgment. Like, motherf**ers just judging. It ain’t even about the music no more."

"Once you found out he was gay, everybody, soon as the song come on now, everybody, like, ‘This gay a** n***a.’ N***as don’t even care to listen to the song no more.”

In late June, Lil Nas X opened up about identifying as a gay man, stating that a deeper meaning alluding to his sexuality could be found in his song "c7osure." In an interview with BBC, he stated that he has indeed been dealing with backlash since coming out. However, he's trying to remain positive.

"It was like, I don’t wanna just live my entire life—especially, you know, how I just got to where I’m at—not just like doing what I wanna do," he said of admitting his sexual preferences.

“I just feel like, he young, and it’s like backlash can come behind anything,” Young Thug continued on the show. “So it’s like, it wasn’t a bad idea, and it was most definitely the best time to do it, during Pride. That was the best time to do it, that was a G’s move."

"But it’s like, he young, so I know what he going to be dealing with, with it in his mind, I dealt with this sh*t before. I know what he going to be dealing with. So that’s why I was like, f**k, he should have never said that, he should have never told them.”
